BEST Spartan Robotics
Jubliee BEST Robotics is an organization in which STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) students have the opportunity to compete in several categories, but also play a role on the robot design/build team, the marketing group, exhibit booth presenters, and so much more! BEST mimics industry by developing a product (the robot) and delivering the product to the public. Jubilee BEST Robotics consists of 40 robotics, middle and high school, teams from Alabama and the Mississippi gulf coast. Middle and high school teams all compete in one competition.
BEST Spartan Robotics competed in the Jubilee BEST Robotics OFF THE GRID competition in October. 'The Challenge' was to build a solution for widespread power outages by designing a robot that can navigate areas devastated by a natural disaster. BEST Spartan Robotics finished the day with a 2nd place finish in Robot, the Best Buy Community Service Award and the Hargrove Team Exhibit Construction and Design Award. BEST Spartans will compete December 7th-8th in Auburn based on their top 4 finish at Jubilee.
Mrs. Barbara McDaniel, our BEST Spartan's Robotics teacher, was named Jubilee BEST Robotics Teacher of the Year. Mrs. McDaniel is selfless in all that she does for the Spartan BEST Robotics team. She is an amazing mentor, encourager, and leader to this group of future leaders.
