Hello!
My name is Dr. Jacqueline Hartley I am the school counselor at the SEEC and I cannot imagine a better place to do what I love. This is my 8th year at the SEEC and my 20th year in education. However, I did not start out in education. I began my career with children as a mental health worker in the Pascagoula, Mississippi area. This inspired me to obtain my certificate in special education with the goal of one day becoming a school counselor. After 3 years as a special education teacher at the high school level, I earned my Master's in School Counseling. I went on to counseling at both the middle school and elementary levels. In pursuit of better assisting my students, I then earned my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
My job at the SEEC is AMAZING. I not only get to see each and every one of our little Spartans as they walk through the door, I also teach about character education, explore and help students understand and navigate social and emotional issues, career awareness, and lead small groups based on a critical need. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need any assistance. My door is always open!
