I began my career in public education at E.T. Belsaw/ Mt. Vernon teaching sixth grade Lang. Arts. After two years, I transferred to Robert E. Lee where I spent the majority of eight years teaching third grade. When Saraland began discussing the possibility of splitting from the Mobile County School System, I knew that I wanted to be a part of an exciting new endeavor in the city that I've always called home. I came aboard the Saraland Faculty in 2008; the 2023-20234 school year will be my 26th year as an educator (twenty five years in public education & one in the private sector). Last but not least..... am very proud to say that I am a Saraland SPARTAN (3rd grade teacher)! University Of Mobile- Batchelor of Science Early & Elem Education University Of Mobile- Master of Arts Elem. Education Highly Qualified (HQ) K-6 & Reading K-12

Ms. Tanya Allen

I, Tanya Allen, am the mom to three energetic boys and two "four-legged" girls, (one is a 3lb. Yorkie named Ella & the other is a hyper spaniel named Willow). Tyler, 30, is married to Emily (Huff) Allen, & they have one sweet little boy, Wells. My middle son, Trent, 22 , is a graduate of Saraland High School and is self-employed through his business, Allen Mobile Detailing. He also attends Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he will graduate with a computer operations degree in December. Finally, my youngest son's name is Trace. He is a senior at SHS, and works for Spartan Inflatables.

Being a teacher for the past 25 years, and a "Spartan" since day one, means that many precious faces have trusted me to foster a love for learning while also creating lifelong memories of their elementary years. At any given moment, you may find me making a quick trip to my favorite place......Disney! The quote that Walt Disney once stated....., "If you can dream it....YOU can do it", is one that I strive to instill in my students. Through hard work, and a little fun,..... I have complete faith in knowing that the BIG dreams of all Saraland students will come TRUE! As a  "Spartan", we "expect" more, and will always strive to "achieve" more!
