Mrs. Sheila Johnson

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the fourth grade.  I could hardly wait to see what we would do each day in school.  By Christmas of that year, I was asking for a chalkboard and trying to teach my dog how to add numbers.  Since then, my teaching goals have evolved into helping third grade students realize how important they are, set and achieve learning goals, and practice having good character.

Some of my academic accomplishments include earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama in May, 2008 and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in July, 2018.  After graduating in 2008, I was employed by Saraland City Schools.  For the first three years, I taught kindergarten, and this is my fourteenth year teaching third grade.

I have been happily married to my husband and best friend, Terry, for twenty-seven years.  Together, we have two sons, Delaney and Lance.  They are both graduates of Saraland High School and the University of South Alabama.  Delaney is an electrical engineer, and Lance is a human resources recruiter.  As a family, we enjoy the company of our miniature dachshunds, which we commonly refer to as "little people with fur."

I'm excited about the 2024-25 school year and feel confident it will be a great year!  Go Spartans!
