I graduated from Mobile County Public School System in May of 1996. I then pursued my undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Education at the University of South Alabama, and graduated in May of 2001. In the summer of 2003, I received my Master's degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from South Alabama.

Experience;

I began my career in 2001 at Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama.  I spent 12 years there and learned as much about myself & being a teacher as I taught the students about mathematics.

In 2012, I was called to begin a new chapter in my life as a teacher at Saraland High School.  I quickly fell in love with the administration, my coworkers, the community and my students.   I love being a Saraland Spartan.

About me:

I am excited to be back at Saraland High School. This is my tenth year here and my 22nd year of teaching. This year I teach Geometry with Data Analysis along with Algebra 2 with Statistics. I am a Mu Alpha Theta Sponsor, a Scholar's Bowl Advisor & the Freshman class sponsor. Teaching is not just a job for me - it is truly my passion.

In my spare time, I love dancing, drawing, and painting. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and have 3 children. We love going on road trips and experiencing the culture of different places.  I have three dogs. One is a Shih Tzu, Hypatia, named after a favorite mathematician. We also have two new BullTerrier puppies: Maybelline (because she has some wicked-glam eye markings that look like mascarra) and Goomba (after the stubby little mushroom man in Mario.). They keep me sane and busy cleaning up after them.  I also have a cat named Kaos (hey Skylanders.)

If I had to choose a career other than education, I would be a cryptologist with the CIA.
