Education!

Hi! My name is Ms. Wheat and I am so thrilled to be starting my first year of teaching in 2nd grade at Saraland Elementary School! I was raised in Auburn, AL, where I recently graduated from Auburn University with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. War Eagle!! During my time at Auburn University, I was privileged to be awarded the Curriculum & Teaching Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award! I also intend on pursuing my Master's degree in Elementary Education from University of West Alabama this upcoming Fall 2024. 

About Me!

As mentioned earlier, I am from Auburn, Alabama! I fall directly in the middle of four siblings (three sisters and one brother). My favorite things to do include visiting coffee shops, reading, going for walks, attending football games, and spending quality time with my family and friends! I am so excited to continue exploring and getting involved in the Saraland/Mobile area and look forward to getting to know your family while doing so! It is an honor to be a part of such an amazing school system and that I get to be a part of your child's journey!

Professional Goals!

My goal for the upcoming school year is to ensure each student walks in my classroom feeling seen, loved, and welcomed. I aspire to create an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I hope to work collaboratively not only with my 2nd grade team, but with each family to best support the diverse needs for each child to succeed. I look forward to meeting your child and all the memories to come!
