    Newsela is a data base of current events stories tailor-made for classroom use. Stories are both student-friendly and can be accessed in different formats by reading level. Newsela allows for differentiation of nonfiction text. 

    Students at SMS utilize Newsela across content areas, in multiple classrooms. Students can search by topics of interest and are assigned articles by their teachers. Students can access Newsela through their Clever account or by clicking here.
