Meningococcal Meningitis Awareness Policy and Recommendations

In accordance with the Jessica Elkins Act (2014-274), SCSS shall provide awareness and vaccine information regarding Meningococcal Meningitis for parents of students in grades 6-12. 

Parents/guardians are encouraged to visit cdc.gov and search for "meningococcal disease" to find information on awareness, prevention, and vaccination for meningococcal meningitis.

Each school year, Saraland City Schools provides a spring immunization clinic on all campuses, offering Tdap, Meningococcal, and HPV vaccines with parental consent.
